10 Days...

I'm the worst blogger ever, but that's okay, I'm keeping this for myself anyways! My internet has been out so I wasn't able to update, but the cable company came and fixed it...so here I am, and it's perfect because it's Friday!! I started my "low carb" diet on Wednesday the 7th, and since then in 9 days, my weight has gone from 210, yeah I had gained again, to
200.6

so a loss of 9.4 lbs, I'm aware it's going to come off slower from now on, and I'm also aware that if I go crazy on carbs it's going to come right back!
It's been a hard 9 days, but not impossible, I think it's going to get easier to eat like this, and with adding in more cardio I hope I keep seeing results!

Low Carb...Gonna Be Hard!

So I am going to be starting a low carb diet. Not Atkins or anything crazy like that, but I need to start a low carb to get my blood sugar down. This is going to be difficult for me, I looooovvveee my carbs!! haha I have been reading about The South Beach Diet, however my Dr. thinks first I need to just try to cut way back on things such as potatoes, pasta, bread, and that sort of thing and of course sugar, but I can keep my fruit, which makes me happy, cause I love fruit!

I also went to the eye dr. today, omgosh my eyes have gotten a lot worse, which surprised him a lot since I'm 22 and at my age he said they really shouldn't be changing so much :( At least I have new contacts and new glasses ordered :)  Some good news is that I go back to Louisiana in 2 weeks!! Ahhhh so close! I'm so excited to have my own house again!

As for the diet, I'm going to start keeping a daily food diary on here, pictures and in writing so I can keep accountable for my calories and carbs. Wish my luck, it's not going to be easy!!

Diabetes?

I was watching Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution, it was on Friday night, but I didn't get a chance to watch it that night. Well I watched it today, and it was great, I will for sure keep watching it.

It opened up my eyes a lot, and I learned quite a bit from it. There was a family on there and the son had a mark on his neck, and the Dr. automatically thought Diabetes. They did the blood test, and he didn't have it yet, but they told him that he would. Well I just happen to have a large mark on the back of my neck, I have had it there for maybe 6 months, I remember freaking out when I found it. I googled it a little, and it said something about high insulin, but I forgot about it, and though it's ugly and I try to cover it I never thought about it again, until I watched this.

I'm really scared to go to the doctor, mainly because I feel like I'm going to be told that there is something wrong with me, and I know that I did this to myself. I don't want to feel judged for putting my own health at stake. I know I need to go, but it might take me awhile to make myself go :(

Too be completely honest, up until this point...the want for weight loss has been vain, I have just wanted to look better in clothes, find myself prettier etc. I know now though that it's  not about my looks, it's about my health. My BMI is 38.7, I'm so close to morbid obesity it's not funny. I need to make this happen, I lack motivation a lot, so I'm going to need as much of it as I can get...but I have to do this!

Work It!

I have a new love!! Seriously I am in love with TURBO JAM! What a great workout. I know that I am burning tons of calories, but my workouts go by soo fast, because I am having so much fun while doing it. I feel great and have more energy than I ever have before! It's awesome! I really can't wait to weigh in on Friday, I know I will have some kind of loss.

I'm doing well with my eating as well. However today I have to go with my mom and grandma to a doctors appointment and my grandma wants to eat at Big Boy, she loves the place and never gets it. I'm still trying to figure out what I will get for dinner...definitely not the Big Boy which is almost like a Big Mac, and my favorite. Hmm I guess I will figure it out sooner or later.

I move back to Louisiana 3 weeks from tomorrow! Omgosh time has gone by sooo fast! I'm really excited to be in my own house again, it will be interesting to see what kind of meals I come up with when I'm only shopping and cooking for myself for a month. Speaking of time going by fast, can you believe Easter is this Sunday? I can't!! I can't believe it's going to be April this week. I'm not one to wish away time, but man I can't wait for May to get here....it means my husband is coming HOME!!!

Weigh In #2

I lost 2.2 lbs this week :)

Not too bad! I'm happy with it , any loss is a good one!
I'm in a great mood today for some reason...and I'm very excited exactly 4 weeks from today I sign my lease to the house on base in Louisiana! Can't wait!! Less than 2 months till my husband is home :)

Turbo Jam!

Last Thursday I went to the Beachbody site and ordered Turbo Jam. I have always heard good things about the results people get from these workouts. I got it in the mail yesterday, but didn't see it out there until about 20 minutes ago :) I ripped it open all excited! The first thing I saw was measuring tape, and a measurement tracker. After looking through everything else I did measurements, and man they weren't good...but you gotta start somewhere right?

Starting Weight and Measurements

Weight: 207 lbs.
Chest: 38.5 in.
Bust: 43.5 in.
Waist: 39.5 in.
Hips: 47 in.
R. Thigh: 28.5 in.
L. Thigh: 28 in.
R. Arm: 15.5 in.
L. Arm: 15 in.

I'll be doing these measurements monthly. I have a friend who just got this set today also. It will be fun to keep track of our progress together!

Let Me Tell Ya 'Bout My Best Friend

His name is Ray, and I married him 2 years ago today :) Yeah, we were so young, I guess we still are lol, but we just couldn't wait to get married, not even until summer or fall....definitely not the 3 or so years our parents wanted us to wait until I finished college. So we talked and got our way, and had a wedding on March 22, 2008 and in Ohio, March is a free for all, it can be sunny or warm, or cold and gloomy...or even snowy! That particular Saturday in March, I woke up to snow! Yuck, however it did end up looking pretty, but man what I would have given to have a warmer day!!

 There were even more people than the 200 we anticipated at the ceremony and we had to have seating added. It was great to have everyone we loved there to share the day with us. However, I didn't notice anyone else that day, it was all about my husband...my school sweetheart, my best friend in the whole world!
Now I would love to leave my weight out of this, I really would...but this is what this blog is for! On that day I weighed 193 lbs, and though I still felt pretty, I think that only went as far as my face. I wish I had been a skinny bride, in a size 2 dress, but I wasn't and I can't change that now. I can only change my future. My husband loves me no matter what, and he always will. There is not a single time in the 4+ years we have been together that he has complained once about the way I look, and I'm pretty sure we can go another 50 years without him doing so. I feel like he deserves a healthy wife who is in shape though, I mean I get a husband that is! So it is a huge thing for me to be in the best shape I can be by our 3rd anniversary in 1 year!

Goals

I decided that like many others I should set some weekly goals. It should help me stick to my overall healthy life goal! I have decided to set 4 goals this week.

1. Track everything I eat on SparkPeople
2. Stay under 1500 calories daily
3. Exercise at least 1 hour per day
4. Drink 80 oz of water each day

I know they are simple goals, but if I can reach each one this week, I feel like I will be one step closer to becoming healthy :)

I'm going to buy things to make Easter basket care packages for my hubs and my adopted soldier. My adopted soldier is one that I adopted from Soldier's Angels which is a great program! I won't be mailing Ray's package until next week because it doesn't take as long to get there. However I don't know where my adoptee is deployed so I want to send his early this week! Another goal of mine for today and tomorrow is to stay away from all the candy that I buy them! In my husband's package I'm gonna try to add healthier options instead of just candy though, as he has been working out daily for a couple hours a day, not that he really needs to!

I'm also a huge list making person, I like to plan....and I love lists! I also cut coupons, and scan through ads weekly...I'm trying to be more frugal while also being more eco-friendly. The two don't always go hand in hand, but that is one of my biggest goals for when I go back to my own house, save money, and be green! Are you a list maker? Do you consider yourself to be "green"?

We got a house!

Okay, we didn't buy a house or anything, but I'm very excited because we were offered base housing, and it's in the newer housing! It's not brand new, but I'll take 10 year old housing over the 1950's house we were in on base before my hubby left! It was actually quite a gross house! It's a 2 bedroom 1.5 bath, which is big enough for the 2 of us. We had a 3 bedroom last time and never used the 3rd room for anything. This one is also a two story, where the other was ranch style. I can't wait to get there and decorate, I'll be posting pictures! I have had friend that live in the housing section we will be in, and I'm excited about it. I sign the lease on April 23rd, so I will be heading to Louisiana a couple days before that! Woo Hoo...I'll miss my family in Ohio, but I can't wait for Ray to get home!

On another note, my brother is supposed to be joining the Air Force after he graduates this year. Well today after his baseball scrimmage he announces that a Marine recruiter is coming over Monday to talk about that. Eek, I'm all for any military branch, I have had family in all of them, I was just really hoping that he went for the Air Force, say what you want about them being spoiled and such...I feel he would be safer...and he is my baby brother!

Hey y'all!

So I have decided to switch my blog over to blogspot, because I find it easier to use, and since I'm just starting out...I figured it was a good idea! I guess this is officially like Day 2 for me now. Yesterday day 1 went great! My stats...not so great!!! Here they are.....
Starting Weight: 207.3 lbs
BMI: 39.2 (obese)
YUCK!!! This is my highest weight ever, also so you know I'm only 5'1! 

Now for the Goals...Here they are....
Goal Weight: 126 lbs (random I know) hehe
Goal BMI: 23.8 (healthy range) 
I can't wait to reach this goal, I know I can do it...time to get on it!
My other goals include drinking a minimum of 80 oz of water per day, and getting in 30 minutes of cardio each day!
Fridays will be my official weigh in days, starting with next Friday I will photograph each weigh in. I'm still working on reward ideas for each of my short term goal weights, which include

199 lbs
190 lbs
180 lbs
170 lbs
160 lbs
150 lbs
140 lbs
130 lbs
126 lbs!!!- VACATION with hubby!!
